Hurricane Irma Impact

 

With approximately 75% of the meters we serve experiencing outages following Irma's turn through Northeast Georgia, HEMC crews are working to restore electricity throughout our service area. Additional crews are assisting with restoration efforts.

 

This is a major outage event and it will take several days to restore power to all HEMC members. View the latest restoration updates.

 

Member Dialogue Session September 28, 2017

Habersham EMC will host a Member Dialogue Session at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, September 28 at the HEMC headquarters (6135 Hwy. 115 West) in Clarkesville.

 

This  session allows HEMC members the opportunity to ask questions.

 

HEMC is proud to serve Northeast Georgia and welcomes member feedback and involvement.

Statement from HEMC Regarding Deposits with Community Bank & Trust

 

As the Vice President of Finance and Administration for Habersham EMC, it is my responsibility to keep track of all financial information and transactions for the co-op. I have been in this role for almost twenty years. I do not take this duty lightly. At HEMC, we do everything we can to protect and advance the interests of all our members. Our focus is keeping rates low and reliability high, and that guides all our decisions.

 

New Scam Targeting Habersham EMC Members

 

Habersham EMC has been notified that some members have received telephone calls stating their power would be disconnected unless they make a payment. The scam appears to target Hispanic members as the information is given in Spanish.

 

An Open Letter to Habersham EMC Members from Board Chairman Rick Wood

 

Habersham EMC has been the subject of a series of articles in a group of local newspapers that point out important issues that need further explanation from our board. Issues that came up during our annual meeting emphasized the need to communicate more fully and clearly.

 

Habersham EMC exists to serve its members. Every decision board members make is an attempt to improve the services we offer whether it's through price, reliability or efficiency.

 

2017 Annual Meeting Highlights

HEMC Member Robin Lovell was the grand prize winner of a $500 credit on an electric bill.Fiber optic service expansion, a leadership search and community engagement topped the highlights of Habersham EMC's Annua

2017 Annual Meeting to be Held July 20th

 

The 2017 Habersham EMC Annual Meeting of members will be held Thursday, July 20 at the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy at 171 Raider Circle, Mt. Airy.

 

Events begin at 3 p.m., including:

  • Registration
  • Barbecue meal in the cafeteria and practice gym
  • Children's fun and games in the practice gym
  • Member Services area in the auditorium lobby
  • Health Fair, with complimentary health screenings, in the band room

 

Trailwave Maintenance

 

NGN will be performing maintenance Wednesday, June 21 between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. During that timeframe, HEMC Trailwave customers may experience a brief interruption in service and HEMC electric members will be unable to make payments online or at kiosks until maintenance is complete.

Payment Kiosk Maintenance

 

The payment kiosks located at the Express Mart in Cleveland and the Express Mart in Demorest will be down for maintenance from 11:59 p.m., Thursday, May 25th until 4 a.m., Friday, May 26th.

Hutchins Named Interim CEO

Ron Hutchinson Interim CEO

Habersham EMC Board of Directors Chairman Rick Wood announced this morning that Ron Hutchins has been selected to serve as interim CEO. “We are fortunate to have Ron as interim. He has such a passion for cooperatives.” Wood said.
